Outlander XT-P Deluxe Fairing will not fit

4324 Views 8 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Stein
Greetings, I did a search and only found a couple of hits. My issue is, I have a 2014 Outlander XT-P and I purchased a Deluxe fairing from the dealer but it does not seem to fit on the handlebars, it will fit our 2013 Outlander (smaller bars) but I did see at least one person on this site with the Deluxe fairing mounted on his XT-P. Does anyone know if this requires a different clamp or what was done to get the clamps to fit the handlebars?
Thanks in advance. - Len

I'm surprised the dealer didn't tell you the clamps wouldn't fit. When I was shopping for my CanAm, they told me that even before I settled on the XT. Still kicking myself for not getting the XT-P.
I called the dealer today, he said that he ordered the fairing from his 2014 catalog and it didn't say anything about not fitting but then when he looked in his 2015 catalog there was a note, will not fit 1 1/8" handlebars. He did say I could return it seeing that it was also his fault but I already mounted my GPS (drilled holes) and I would really like to use it. I asked how much for a new set of mounts if I screw these up trying to modify them, he said his cost is $59. Maybe I will try to modify the mounts and if I screw them up, order a new set of mounts and just put it on the 2013 outlander.
I didn't think any BRP fairing would fit the XTP because of the gauge pod? I'd love to have a fairing as well.
I'm using the one for the renes. They have the same handelbar.
But it is smaller than the Deluxe Fairing and it vibrates a lot with bumps...

Hi from Spain!

It doesn't fit because the XTP has 1 1/8" bars. XTs have 7/8" bars.
Fairing Mounted

I was able to mount the fairing using a set of 2 inch 7/8" to 1 1/8" risers and getting a small extension machined for the riders. Vehicle Car Auto part Motorcycle accessories Motorcycle

Old post, still gonna try... Hoping you remember what riser that was. Hoping it’s something cheaper than a Rox. Got the same problem now.
