So my 14 Commander 1000 check engine light came on, and it's the P1172 that is up. I've search for the code and what it means but no luck. Anyone ever got that code?. Lately when coming to a stop sometimes, the engine will die on me....

Found a thread on the Spyder forums talking about that code. Sounds like it's an MAF sensor issue, or the vacuum hoses that connect to it.

Sure can

They're both BRP products.

Along those lines, here's some "useless trivia" for ya: most of those emissions codes/diag codes, are "universal" in their definition. Where it would get lost is that not all machines/cars/trucks/etc, would have, say, that system even on it, that the diag code would apply to. So while the code may be universal in its definition, it wouldn't be universal in its application.

But in this instance, I don't see why not. Both BRP machines would have the same engine control design, software, codes, etc.
