By the youtube videos of each to top speed you wouldnt think that the polaris would be that much faster

 

I would still think the commander would be faster,maybe when more folks get them out in the rear world we will see which one is faster. I know there both expensive as all get out.

 

Think the Polaris will be faster to top speed stock. There was rumours of another key to boost the power in the Commander but that is all BS.:smilietwocents:

 

I almost think the RZR and commander are two different atv's. Kinda like comparing a Ford 150 Raptor (Polaris) to a Jeep YJ (Can Am). Maybe I'm wrong. I just see them a two different applications.

 

They are a lot different but not sure on your comparisons. Commander is more versatile then the Polaris and comes equipt with more.:smilietwocents:

 

When I bought my RZR4 I also looked drove etc the Commander 1000, my take on it, the commander has tones of power, but I wanted 4 seats so I took a Polaris. The commander hands down beat the Polaris in cab layout, that cab is sweet, makes Polaris look like oops forgot about the cab. As far as suspension goes, more wheel travel in the Polaris. Utility goes to the commander, the box dumps and it has a second one under the dump box. The warranty also goes to Commander, 3 years to six months. So if it is going to used for anything besides riding and only two seats needed, the winner is Commander every time. My dealer told me he believes Can-Am is working on a sport machine to compete with the RZR, so that should be interesting if it happens.

I am a can-am freak ,,, untill i saw both of them rzr/s - commander goingthrough some extreme steep downhill/uphill terrain ,, commander is much more luxurius inside ... but by far the rzr/s was crawling better ,,, If i wanted a dragracing machine i would have bought a street bike not an atv or utv ,,, i like trail riding and crawling and it seems that rzr/s does it better ...

 

I have to think Can-Am will be coming out with something sporty to compete with the sporty Polaris's.:smilietwocents:

I have already heard RZR S owners complaining about the new XP. They don't like the ride height, it is too wide and the tires are junk.

As a buyer in the market I'm not buying a side X side for their drag racing abilitys. I would be buying it for their for their off roading capability and utility. If I wanted to go fast on the street I would buy a Yamaha R1.

But to each their own.

 

face it, the new rzr xp trumps the commander... no question about it. Just have to wait to see what canam comes back with in return!

I'm not some foaming at the mouth, brand loyal Polaris nut. I've had dozens of bombi products and have trusted my life to rotax powered airplanes for thousands of hours.
It's just that Commanders are second best, hands down. I mean, if I wanted a Jeep, I'd buy a Jeep. A real Jeep with AC and XM. Not some overweight go cart whose claim to fame is two trunks and lawn chair seats. Some folks reach for the things that "shine" and some go for the numbers. So the choice is first or second. That's all I'm say'in.
If I wanted my rzr to run like a Commi I'd pick up a couple fat chicks... Just eat the humble pie or I'll be forced to keep poking at you.
