Radiator cover

Just bought a super atv grill cover for my 2023 defender max limited. I guess since they cover the radiator they allow for the coolant to get hotter so the heater can blow warmer air, and the machine warms up quicker. Anyone else have this installed?

What sort of temperatures does your gauge show when running down a road without the cover? The engine thermostat should make the engine run at a set temperature without a need for a cover over the radiator. You may risk an overheating condition which is detrimental to the engine if it gets too hot.
If the thermostat is ok and the coolant level is correct the temperature gauge should show engine temps running as high as around 205 and drop back to somewhere around 185. It will vary temperature as you drive and the thermostat is opening and closing as it's designed to do.
What did Super ATV say this cover is actually supposed to do other than obviously cover the radiator and for what reason?
Edit: I just realized your handle is Arcticdefender. If you do live in the Arctic region this might be a whole other situation. I'd be wrapped up in several blankets.
If this is the case keep a close eye on the temp.gauge when running on a warm day if you ever get warm days.

Thanks Letmgrow, yeah the temps I’d be running the machine with the cover on would be 0 celsius (32 Fahrenheit) to -30 Celsius (-22 Fahrenheit). I noticed the fan usually kicks in when the engine temp hits around 95 celsius (203 Fahrenheit) so I’ll keep an eye on that, it’s one of the pieces of info I’ve got on my display. It usually takes awhile at -20 to get there, if it does, I’ll monitor it this winter, but I’m pretty sure at that temp it’s not running incredibly hot, we aren’t running super high rpms or WOT at that time of the year. My main reason for getting it is to keep the coolant temp high when it’s really cold out so I’m blowing hot air into the cab. Anyone else have one and noticed a difference in the cold?

Now that my eyes are completely open I can see the Canadian flag by your user name. This sheds new info on the subject. I don't blame you one bit for wanting consistent heat. Brrrrr!
Keep a close eye on the gauge and you should be fine.
I have ties to Canada myself. My Paternal Grandfather came to the US in the late 1800's and became a Naturalizied citizen in the early 1900's. I live in northern NY State and have visited Canada many times mostly in Ontario but have been to Quebec a few times also. This was to visit with relatives and also to race snowmobiles quite a few years ago. I also ran a Super Stock Olds 442 back in the day at a couple tracks in Canada. Desoranto Ontario mainly. That was back in the late 1960's into 1970.
Where does time go? LOl.

Haha :) I’ll keep an eye on the gauges. I’d love to throw a block heater on it, but I don’t want to mess with the warranty and I haven’t found a stock block heater.

It’s crazy how time flies. I came to the Canadian Arctic 15 years ago, and the plan was just to come up for a year. Drop me a line if you’re in Iqaluit and I’ll give you a tour :)

I was going to check in with the dealer to see if there’s a stock one. But I’ll take your advice Cheeto and see if I can also find one that installs in a heater/coolant hose.
