Just picked up a new 1000 XXC and it's amazing. I did notice the radiator fan comes on quite a bit even when I'm running at higher speeds. The temp is always within limits so no issue with cooling. Is this normal for the Renegade? I have a 850XT also and that fan will come on but not as much as this.
thanks

Yes it is normal for the fan to go on and off. I would start worrying if it didn't.

I noticed this on my '21 1000R X Xc as well man... I reached out to "Motorsports Addicts" and he was able to answer a bunch of my questions on this topic... I think I'm going to pick up a Dynojet Power Vision 3 so that I can run a custom tune (from Motorsports Addicts) on my currently STOCK machine...

Here are the benefits of the PV3 and the custom MA tune...
"Our standard tune:
  • Adjusts fueling for your modifications (if equipped).
  • Adjusts timing for your modifications (if equipped).
  • Raises rev limiter.
  • Raises speed limiter.
  • Lowers fan temps.
  • Refines throttle control (...and other little things you're not likely to notice.)."

When I asked how much it'd help a STOCK machine -- he was very honest w/me and said the main things you'll get out of a custom tune for the stock machine is the lowered fan temps, throttle control refinement, rev / speed limiter adjustments.

He said that as you (or, IF you) add modifications (like exhaust, etc.) you simply just reach out to them and they'll send you the new tune for your new specific parts installed). This way your machine will be running at optimal levels for however you currently have it setup.

Hope this adds a little more color to the convo.

Be glad your fan works. Keep an eye on it. They wear out fast. If you notice it starting to sound rough, order one. , You'll need it. Mine lasted about 1500 miles. I replaced it the second year I owned it.

I have 4,200 miles on mine so far. Still sounds the same as when it was new.
