Renegade Mirror Question

I ordered the Can-Am mirrors for my 2011 Renegade and the left side screwed right into the existing mounting hole on the handlebars. I went to do the right side and the mounting hole is there- but the damn bolt on the mirror is too small and they want me to attach it with a mount! Why can't I just get a mirror that will fit in the existing mount? Or can I?

If there was any room to just break down and use the mount I would but there isn't. I don't like the mirrors on my Renegade but I want to be able to keep track of the kids when we ride.
