Shift indicator issue, won't start. 2010 Rene 800

I've searched, but couldn't find what I was looking for. The indicator reads fine in all gears except park. It still says reverse. So of course it will not start. If I move it to neutral it will start fine. Anybody know why it is not reading park and allowing me to start it? Thanks for any and all opinions!!

Either shifter needs adjusting, or a switch is bad in gearbox.

Yep figured out that the linkage needed adjustment. Unfortunately the lower nut is stripped on the rod and is just spinning. Will need to order a new one. What kind of adjustment is made up just underneath the shifter. I can see that it can be adjusted just not sure what it does. Thanks!
