snapping axles with mud tires?

Just wondering if anyone ran into issues with breaking axles while using heavy mud tires. I want to get a set of 27" mega mayhems but I'm worried about them being to aggressive grabbing a rock and snapping an axle. I ride up in mountains where the land is pretty Rocky and want a good mud tire

You don't hear too many stockish tires breaking axles, but the mud tires are snapping them fairly often. Its all about control of the throttle and grabbing things like roots and rocks.

Good stuff to know since I am picking up new 27" Mega Mayhems today!
I'm running 30in black mambas and have never broke an axle!!! Broke a diff tho:( partially due to not changing the oil
I'm running 28" mega mayhems, no broken parts yet, absolutely love these tires!

What kind of terrain do you ride?
I ran 31's all last year on stockers with no issues, changes them out this year for piece of mind.
