My speedo is working like a tachometer instead of a speedometer, what are some possibilities that cause an issue like this??

Get some video of it. You will need to give more details, like model and year.
On the g1 bikes it can be changed back and forth. Hold the reset button on the engine hours or something like that can't remember right now for sure. It's in the owners manual if you can't figure it out. If its a g2 bike and they're not supposed to do it then I'm not sure.
G1 quad you can just press the button a few times until it gets back to the mph (or kph).
It's an 07 outlander 800
Press the button on the gauge a few times and it will change. Owners manual has all the info on it too

2006 Outlander 800
2007 Honda FourTrax 450 Trail Edition
2007 GMC Canyon 3.7 4 inch lift on 33s
2002 Yamaha TTR125
I tried it yesterday as I couldn't remember for sure. Set it to the odometer reading. Press and hold the menu/select button for a few seconds and it will go back to normal. Helps if the bike is running. You know you did it right then when the speedometer goes back to zero.
