Yes, it was a problem on 2009/2012 models with power steering where the wires from the plug to voltage regulator were thinner diameter and burned. BRP has a new harness and can be soldered in to eliminate the plug. What year is yours?

I don't think we are talking about the same thing in this post? i believe the original poster is talking about the plastic screw in cap on the side of the engine case, by your right foot. which is different than what SexyR posted a picture of. Fry daddy can you confirm.

Have 2020. The electrical harness from the Stator melted. Shut the machine completely down. Only 2 weeks old when happened, machine only does farm work. Three months later they may have a fix.
The first noticed issue was loss of power steering, then a/c, then dash. Turned off and wouldn’t restart.

Anyone else heard of this?
