yes you can put a zerk in the steering bushing but its a real pain to get the lower bolts out and pack in. Recommendation when doin git is find a zerk with a longer shaft and put it on the left or right side. I put a 90 in the center where their is a flat spot and the darn fitting popped out of the 90 so now i have to tear it apart all over again and do it..
