The Side by Side is supposed be due out in the Spring of next year

 

There was some speculation about a sneak peak. Talked to the Atlantic Rep a couple of weeks ago. Guess it didn't pan out.

 

Wish I would have bought a RZR when I planned on it ... by the time this thing comes out I would have been ready for a new SxS.

 

There is also a rumor that Can-Am and Yamaha will be unveiling new SxS models at the Side x Side Roundup at Brimstone, Sept. 4th-7th...You know how rumors are...Sounds to me like a clever way to drum up interest in the Roundup...hey, whatever works right?

I actually hope Can-Am comes out with 2 models of the SxS.. I sport version (RZR type) and a crew version. I am kinda leaning towards the crew version. The only reason I would want a SxS, is for joy riding, hauling a cooler and my girl.

 

I have heard Can-am is going to be coming out with 2 versions of a sxs. One mainly like a Terx or Rhino and the other like the RZR. But time will tell if what i heard is the truth or not. Supposedly going to be released to the media around february of 2010, then should arrive in dealerships around June-july of 2010. I'd expect a hefty price tag of no less than $15,000 U.S. And the Engine is supposed to be the spyder 990 engine.

But don't take my word for it. We will soon see if this comes to fruition or not.

 

Sheesh guys, we all sound like a bunch of Honda loyalist. We even have our own section of the forum to talk about the machine we hope Can Am builds, just like all the Honda fans that have been waiting, and waiting, and waiting, for decades, for Honda to build something fast.

That's about right John on the release timing. I have heard spring to early summer of next year..

 

I have just decided to sell my RZR "S"..........

 

If the SxS comes with the Rotax 990, my Outty is history! That is one sweet engine...:th_smiliebanana2:

 

I hope for the 990.Then I dont have 2 buy 2 different oil filters........

Heard, should, if, spring, when, dealer, blah blah blah. Ive "heard" so many people say the same thing every few months, except they change the date, the rest is just dribble coming out of thier mouths.

Bite your tongue. I know someone who has been invited by Can Am to test drive their prototypes. He has seen pictures and next week will be test driving. Two models- Utility and Sport, Two engine sizes 800 and 1000 probably the 990. He doesn't know which engine is in which side x side but is excited none the less.

 

"I know someone" He must be a friend of your brothers sister inlaws cousins father ??? So maybe you should bite your tongue cuz you "knowing someone" means nothing. Again, it is what it is. When it's out we can say it was or wasnt "worth the wait"

You are a funny guy. I won't mention his name for fear that BRP will not be happy with him giving out info. The demo's are this week and he will tell me what he can and that is all I can say.

 

Come on guys---as frustrated as we all are on this topic, let's keep cool and not make this personal and take out said frustrations on each other.

Not personal at all. Im not buying a SxS and never will, to me it's too much like a lil truck. My Samrai aint much bigger than a SxS.

But seriously, this is the best Can Am forum on the net that I have come across. BUT... just about every Can Am site ive checked out, has a SxS forum, why ??? Honestly speaking (sorry mods, I respect you all but im speakin the truth here) a Can Am-SxS forum is the stupidest thing cuz there isnt one ! Basically it's just a gossip/rumour mill at best. And every thread is basically the same. "I heard theyre releasing it this...?" is basically in every post. "The Rep said this......" Meanwhile even the people that work for BRP, directly or at a dealer, dont know squat themselves. A good bunch of us on this forum would be better parts guys and/or mechanics compared to those currently employed in these positions. No one knows nothing. And no one can tell me FOR SURE WHEN AND IF there will be a Can Am SxS. Right ?

I'd love to see one but like they see... believe nothing that you hear and only HALF of what you see ! Only half of what you see cuz you dont always know the story behind it. Just like the pic we're seeing now. Half are saying it's a chop and half are saying NO CUZ A REP PUT IT UP. So there ya go, take it for what it is, and what it is, is my opinion. So dont get yer panties in a bunch.

for what its worth, one of my best friends dad is a mid-west regioal rep for BRP. He told me last week that as of right now the only info he has on the sxs is a JUNE 2010 unveiling date and probably not to the showrooms till this fall. He has already been told he will not be allowed one as a demo, which is odd because he usually gets anything new that BRP is coming out with a few months before dealers do to try out. I was really upset about that.

In New Zealand my dealer just had a BRP meeting and a sport model with an 800 and 990 engines for 2011 and utility version in 2012. That's for this market anyway.:smilietwocents:

 

can-am commander FTW!!! and the 998 motor will be nice, especially in the limited outlander.
