Have a 2014 800 renegade xxc. I need a new set of tires and found a deal on the grim reaper tires for $380 using the stock set up of 25x8x12 and 25x10x12.

Should I consider going to a larger size? Mostly trail riding with some mud holes and snow.

Depending on your trail riding and mud you may want to get a larger size for more ground clearance. However i have a set of grim reapers on my arctic cat and love them. i ride them in rack deep muddy water and pull other machines out. I would have put them on my can am but there was a good deal running on the pitbull tires.

Depends what type of riding and what terrain you ride on.

I don't think the stock 25" even run true to size do they? (as in they run small)

If it was me I would go with 26" and keep stock clutching and call it a day. but again, it completely depends terrain and type of riding. I have an Outlander that came stock with 26" that run small, when I replaced them I went with 26" that run true to size (hard pack trail tire, nothing extreme) and I feel these are much closer to a perfect sized tire for the machine....maybe even 27's. I just see it as very common for people to go 1 size up from stock all the time when they replace and be very happy with that. If you do fast paced trails then maybe just the stock size, but since you do snow and mud I would look at 26's....something better than holeshot's also.....

If your racing the renegade I would stick to the oem tire size. If not, then going one size up to 26” will be perfect for trail riding.
I went withe 26” Pitbull Growlers only because I got them at 1/2 price but if I had to do it over again, I would prob get ITP Holeshots or Bearclaw HTR.

The only clearance issue you might encounter is on the frontend, the tie rod ends are close to the tires. You only need half an inch more than your current setup. I think you'll be fine
