Have you thought about terminators there almost a 30", I heard they are smooth and for a mud tire almost compete with the silverbacks and outlaws

Personally I like the SB's period. They ride great in trails, over rocks, and obviously in mud. They only suck when riding across asphalt or hard pack at less than 5mph...rides like a wagon then..Lol. Will probably upgrade to 32's and 11's in rear when these wear out. Plus they just look bada$$ on the XMR. :D

Wow have not been on in months and still the same old same questions and bickering... Haha Anyway hope all is well with everyone!

Hands down O2 wides for XMR are the best all around option. Great off road in anything moist, and damn good on hard pack and roads. Backs are good off road but junk on pavement, rounds edge folds on turns not enough rubber on pavement for good take offs, etc... There good in the mud, but again just get O2 wides for your xmr and you will LOVE them. We have three bikes 2012 XMR and 2 1000 XTs 2012s as well, all with the same setups and they hold up great, stay on the bead and never fold or bottom out on rim.

I asked the same questions many moons ago and a few guys had them and swore by them, I am happy!

Ok Gunzzz...would you answer a question I've asked several times and NO ONE will answer.?? What is the largest tires I can put on my new XMR 1000 WITHOUT TRIMMING AT ALL..??? B/c I would try the OL2's but I REFUSE to cut on a new $16k machine. Thx in advance.

I will try to answer this for you Titan..... With OL2's, the biggest tire you are going to get is a 29.5" tire in various widths. If already on an XMR, it comes trimmed from the factory already and you should not need any more timming. You can get bigger OL's if you go to the originals.

With the OL2's on my 1000 max, I have trimmed the fenders just as Can-Am does on the XMR. My tires still rub while turning or hit a dip pretty hard. That being said it must also be noted that I am running factory shocks and springs right now without any spring spacers or lift. With a tighter suspension setup, I believe the rubbing will go away as it is pretty minimal right now.

Titan, ok so the O2 ALL WIDES went in my 800 XMR without anything but 1" wheel spacers and no trimming was necessary. The Richochete skids however you will need to trim them with a little care and they will look factory right where the tires meet the fender at full steering tilt. There are picture in older posts but it is simple, looks perfect and does not affect anything. Then when reversing or turning tight they won't rub. They do not touch anything else anywhere.

As far as the 1000 XTs it's even easier but slightly different. I would run O2 wides, since you have SO much power and weight will not matter if you clutch. They are closer to 30" when you have air in them from what I remember again I have posted the pics and info way back so check for the facts, but who cares they are huge and awesome. Now we added spring spacers to them since the suspension was soooooo soft, I believe they were 2" or just under again check posts. Then we set the shock adjustments to low and rode the bike in circles with 300 pounds on the front rack and hit the brakes hard a bunch if times. Sounds crazy but the tires actually rub the outer edge of the fenders and when they touch they ever so slightly wear them down, it's amazing they look factory as it kinda melts a 1/4-1/2" inch of the fender away. I'm telling you it looks perfect and I'm a picky bastard. Btw they also have 1" wheel spacers and do not rub unless you hit real really hard! Then when they stop touching remove the weight from the front rack and pump up the shock adjustments to high and your good to go.

Sorry for being long winded... Anyway so this leads us to your question. I do not know how the air shocks will affect 1000 XMR BUT I wild bet $1000 it will be much the same and fine, as its the same G2 with even more space than a 1000 XT. Get a set of 1" wheel spacers, more stability and wider stance! If I decide to trade in mine, and that's not a factor of money, I just like mine as much as the 1000 minus the engine, I would without hesitation get O2's all wide again.:)

BTW a side point as there are other threads about this as well, I would not buy a 31" regular outlaw, not bc they are not awesome, but because the less than 1/2" added ground clearance addition does not weigh as heavily to me as the AMAZING side walls on the new O2's.
