I decided to weigh both the renegade 1000xxc and the outlander XT 1000.

You'd be shocked to see what they actually weigh. I put them on digital Longacre Race scales that weigh each wheel and give you the total.

Any best guesses on the renegade or the outty 1000's??:aniwheeler6:

I also weighed a Brute force 750 and a raptor 700 for comparison.

Lets see who's the closest one to the actual weight.

ANY GUESSES??

I took pics for reference and will post them up here , you'll also be amazed at how much suspension and weight leveling/tuning can am put into these to get the weights on BOTH the renegade and can am EQUAL AT ALL TIRES!!!!!! I was amazed to say the least the renegade is damn near dead even at all tires for weight. 50/50 any way you look at it.

EDITED TO SHOW CORRECT WEIGHTS!!!! HERE YOU GO!! Hard to believe for me as well. these scales 3000.00 true weight exact to the pound.

#1 my renegade 1000 all stock WITH Muzzys about -14 pounds over the stock exhaust pipe 2 bars left on the fuel gauge from Empty 802 POUNDS!!

LOOK AT THE BALANCE OF THE RENEGADE 1000!!! NEAR 50/50 all over. CAN AM DID THEIR HOMEWORK!!

#2 Outlander 1000 Muzzy pipe _14 pounds Clamp down rear rack (weighs very little) and 1 Bar on the gas gauge from empty. 878 pounds!!!

Look at the balance. if this had the stock pipe, it'd be balanced 50/50 all over like the renegade. the weight difference on the LEFT rear is from the Muzzys being lighter than the stock pipe.

#3. Last is a 2012 Brute force 750. these are supposed to be 620 pounds DRY. well this one is pretty damn wet. 1/2 tank of gas, skids, muzzys, rear bag (empty) and winch and front brush guars with heavier terracross tires. DAMN this thing got FAT fast. 833 POUNDS!!

This is simply to show you that weight of the machine IS NOT what you may thin k it is.

here's my rider weight (about 269 pounds) (no helmet or riding gear on either)+ the renegade's weight combined. now the machine makes 71 rwhp, but we're moving OVER 1/2 a ton here!!!!

I'd like to know the true weight of a raptor 700. Maybe 400lbs?.. and if so my machine is definately over 900lbs with all my gear and I beat 2 different 700's, one with a pipe and controller, and 1 stock. What a powerhouse of a motor i'm sittin on! buuuu-yaaaaaaa!

I weighed my raptor. it weighed about 400-410 I can't remember exactly.

it makes 50 rwhp/49 tq. stock motor with MSD timing and fuel and a biggun pipe. Most make 43-45 rwhp

we'll have to get a drag going. see if you can beat my raptor. it's a quick little basstard out of the hole but it wont beat my renegade.

figure it this way.

for every 40 pounds weight you carry, you basically LOOSE 1 rwhp.

so if you weigh in at 900 pounds and make 62 rwhp. to see if you are competitive with a raptor you have a 500+ pound mass to move. that = you are loosing compared to the raptor about -12.5 rwhp (or concider the raptor gaining this advantage) NOT COUNTING RIDER WEIGHT!!

that puts you damn close to what a 50 rwhp raptor will run, but you have the ease of perfect holeshot and never miss a gear.

Good analysis John, I've always looked at weight savings in rotating mass also. So for every 7.5 lbs you remove you gain 1 hp. The lightest wheels I've found are the pro mod T-9 at under 8 lbs. Popular with the sxs crowd because of there heavy machines. Same principle holds true with all machines and of course includes tires, just not near as noticeable. Running the T-9's you will gain 1.5 hp over the stock XT wheels. Is that 1.5 hp worth the 400 dollar price, for some yes but most no.

so its worth the extra 8 lbs to have a bulletproof set of wheels

Someone was finally able to weigh the Scrambler 1000. Turns out the Scrambler and Renegade are actually very close to the same weight and distribution. Chris Robinson from TORN gets the credit for this.

First pic is the Scrambler.

Second one is the pic that was posted at the beginning of this thread of the Renegade weight.

Scrambler 1000: 840lbs with full tank, Hiper dual beadlocks, maxxis Ceros tires and tire balls.

Renegade 1000: 801lbs with 2 bars on fuel gauge, muzzy exhaust (14lbs over stock) and stock rims and tires.
