Hey guys, I know this has been beat to death as far as 2 up seats on a non max outlander... but I bought the non max outlander for various reason.

I am shopping around for an easy to install and quick to remove 2 up seat that will work with the LinQ system preferably. I found WES Industries makes a 2 up seat with the quick attach mounts that work specifically with the LinQ rack which is great however a couple things caught my eye.... the mounts look like their plastic? (can anyone confirm)

Anyone else run their set up on a non max bike? any other company make something identical as far as making those style of quick release mounts?

here's the link to the Wes Industries quick mounts I am referring to

Certainly look to be 3D printed bases in that kit.

Here’s a thought; could you use the BRP LinQ Fasteners with the WES Industries 2UP seat in the same way? I’ve seen videos of people using them as extra locating points for the large trunk and other items without too much modification.

im not sure how that one would work to attach a seat with it. I did see anyglide also makes an anchor which is ideally exactly what I had in mind originally. (seen it previously but didnt think of it until now)

Only down fall... it seems like its only accessible in the USA. (20 USD each) ideally would need 4 ends up being 150-200 Canadian REAL quick lol. upside of these they could be multi use as i can also install eye bolts on them if I wanted to ratchet anything down to the racks. I havent had any luck finding any canadian suppliers sadly.

this is from their instruction page... another thing im not a HUGE fan off.... is that the knob to tighten the seat down is also plastic... not too hard to strip those out from my experience though it really depends on the type of plastic used.

For the linQ fasteners wouldn't i need to screw into the side of the seat for the fastener to hold it down? which then means i would need to make sure the 2up seat doesnt go over the edge of the rack where linQ fastener locks in? unless im missing something on how the fastener works

reason i wouldnt think it would work is because the 2 up seats i see online cover the rack entirely for the most part.

I have the WES industry trunck and mounts. Definetly the mounts are not 3D printed, they have been cut out of a solid sheet. I have 3D printed mounts for mounting a gun case on the front, they work fine but I do not think I would trust them on a truck to hold the weight of a person.

ahh ok nice. hows the "surface area" that the top caps tighten down. the biggest thing that caught my eye was the way the seat is secured down with the plastic top caps. never had much luck with threaded plastic. in general

They caps have captured metal nuts so there is no issue tightening them down. I replaced the caps with regualr nuts with nylon inserts becasue the caps are rather tall and interfear with stuff in the trunk. May have also replaced the carrigae bolts with shorter ones so they just came through the trunck enough to catch a nut.
