What did you do on your Can-Am today?

Seen threads like these on other forums I frequent for different platforms, couldn’t find one in here for the Outlander.. so here it goes.

This thread could be a success or an utter failure. So I’ll start, ideally post photos along with what you actually did.

Installed one of the aluminum shifter brackets.

Please let us know what you decide to replace the winch with. With all your experience, you ought to be a good judge.

They work very well also at tarmac. Not shaking at all speed of 55 mph..

Those shock covers, don’t they do more damage then good by containing dirt, water etc? I know it’s a big no no in the Jeep world..

I have remove them and shock's have been stay spotless (clean). Perhaps it will chance now = My riding style for this day has been much more carefully then now. It's time to get this "reaper" dirty.. Have to check them time to time..
Finding some loose points by off road ride 8 hours 120km.
Those new tires are amazing but need more learning = how to get all grip in use...

Just completed my 1200 km maintenance. And this is the way I like to do it, I can reach every area with out loosing and skin. Brakes still have about 3/4 pad, these BRP heavy duty pads on my XMR are amazing. I serviced them, cleaned the pins up good and re grease them with brake grease. l change oils front to back and greased all spots. The only thing I back away from doing this time was checking the valve settings and cleaning of one way bearing. I got lazy. Turns out it only cost me $500.00 at my dealer to have valves set and a new Maverick belt installed.

How much were the valves off spec ?

I did not ask, but I know they were into both covers. I'm going for a ride this weekend, will have to brake in new belt and see if what difference there is.

Did my valves, bike had 6200km/215hrs never done before, barely out of spec.

Yep, I only check the valves once on my 2014 and like yours barely out. I just like to have that piece of mine. On the 1000s that back cover is a bitch, that's why I let my dealer do it. I thought my dealer treated me good, the Maverick belt was $235.00 and the labor was $260.00 to set valves and clean clutches. So about $500.00 total.

$235 for the Maverick belt.. wow. I know it's just my opinion with some experience in trial and error but I think the WBB302 belt for $150 and maybe a bit stronger is a better buy.

He’s talking Canadian dollars. The WBB302 is over $250 canadian plus tax..

I don't know too much about the WBB302 belt, but your $150.00 belt here in Canada would be about $195.00 plus taxes. I did tried a Gates delta belt once , after 150 miles I pulled it to check on it and every web on the inside of belt was cracked. I know the Maverick belt might cost a little more, but I'm going to give it a try.
The WBB302 is made from a different material than other belts. It is designed to run cooler. Lots of science went into the development. But either one should do you just fine.
the Maverick belt was $235.00
I understand this is canadian dollars but this belt from Partzilla is like USD 150-160.

Today, I replaced all fluids (with Valvoline fluids) and to my surprise, even with 4,500 km since my last fluid change, the front diff fluid and the gearbox diff fluid looked pretty much brand new. No discoloration, no bad smell, nothing. Mind you I don't go mudding yet I ride in the snow, but still I was expecting to see more discoloration. For the future, I think I will stick at least with the 6,000 km interval change listed in the service manual if not more. There were barely any metal shavings in the drain plugs.

As for the rear diff fluid, yet was darker than the rest but nothing to worry about.

And I got the winch's motor re-wired and installed it and it worked flawlessly. Cost me $20 to get it re-wired rather than having to fork out at least $200+ to buy a new winch from USA and have it imported here.

Today, I picked up my rims and spacers from the paint shop as I had them painted matte black and finally installed my Kenda BearClaw HTR tires. I am really really digging this look!
I only rode it on pavement from the tire shop back home so I can't comment on the tires' performance offroad but I kinda know they will perform very well already. On pavement though, they were a bit more wobbly above 80 km/h as compared to the original big horns they replaced.
