What did you do on your Can-Am today?

Seen threads like these on other forums I frequent for different platforms, couldn’t find one in here for the Outlander.. so here it goes.

This thread could be a success or an utter failure. So I’ll start, ideally post photos along with what you actually did.

Installed one of the aluminum shifter brackets.

Finished greasing one front wheel bearing after I pulled the axle etc. left side still remains to be done.

How difficult is it to bleed the brakes? Considering changing the fluid on the machine. I seem to have a pulsing feel when I brake I’m assuming it’s the front right, as the left side seemed fine once I looked at it.
Word of caution if your using the greasing tool that you insert in bearing, quite a bit of talk on here about those and research shows that you shouldn't pump the grease in until it come out the side. I think it was 3 - 5 pumps is all that you need to put in.

I'm in the fill it up camp. I'm more worried about water intrusion than heating up a bearing at the speeds that I drive. My heavy boat trailer has the system where I can fill the whole hub. bearings etc to keep water out and I've driven it on the highway for 21 years!

Brakes are easy to bleed. Just have someone keep some pressure on the brake lever and crack the bleeder.

Pulsing feeling though is more like bad wheel bearing or warped rotor.

I let the grease bleed out of the seal a bit, 7k kms on the original bearings, no issues.

Well I think on the one front sides the pads are wearing a bit uneven, were the inner pad is more worn. I did think of warped rotors too.. but I feel like it wasn't always doing this.

Bearings are tight, no play in wheels what so ever.

Just upgrade bumpers for fullmetal. Old one's start to be guite bend.. Also relocation plate to be more cover. Just for start i replace rear winch rope to 6mm 4800kg rope... Tomorrow front Will gwt same rope. Let see if they Will stand "little" use.

took my new outlander 500 for its inaugural run to do a belt break in.i put a 1/4" stick right through the back tire.plugged it and find out all the tires are inflated to 20 psi,so i fixed that.this morning i'm putting Tireject in all the tires.then i'm going to see if my bighorns and alloy rims from my Honda sxs fit. they are fairly worn down and a little big but if the rims fit i'm going to find a set of smaller rubber.

I think the Pioneer does use the same 4x137 bolt pattern our bikes do, so at least from that angle, they should "bolt-up" at least

As long as it's a Pioneer 1000, it's 4x137. If it's a 700, it's 4x110

So you got one of the new ones as well. I still haven't seen one at the dealer yet. When did yours arrive? Supposedly mine arrives next week.

The dealer where I bought my new 850, has a 500 and a 700 sitting on the showroom floor and 49 more of each in crates out back. He ordered 50 of each as part of a promo offer to the dealers from Can-Am. He got a huge break on the cost and he was offering them for $1,000 Canadian off MSRP. No destination, no PDI charge. Was a really good deal. So 2 weeks ago, he told me he had 4 of the 500 sold or spoken for I should say , and eight of the 700 are sold, and just awaiting assembly, Several more are spoken for. Out of all the dealers I've been to when I was looking for my 850, this was the only one that I've seen the new singles on the floor.

That's only the half of it, if he sells 50% of that order. They said they'll ship the same thing again this fall to him with a little more discount. He said he normally sells a lot of units out of his store but that was a big commitment but he anticipates being able to sell all of these with very little issue. He said he took a gamble on them being a hot seller and so far he said the interest in them seems to be pretty high and not surprisingly people like me, getting off of a Yamaha or some people, a king quad, and jumping on the Can-Am train.

it came in about 10 days ago.same as the dealer up the hiway from me.took them a while to assemble all their units.it's a small shop and all the ones they got were spoken for.and fyi,the pioneer rims and tires fit but the can am lugnuts are too small on the shoulder of the lug so i need to get different lugnuts to use them.

i can't say much about them as i am coming from dirtbikes to a sxs..what i can say is there is not much heat from the pipe.the seat gets more warmth from the sun than the engine and virtually no side heat.the airbox is rediculously easy to access and the side panels pop off to give me easy access to the engine and belt cover.maintenance is going to be a breeze but the battery is buried in the rear.i'm fairly certain my remote reservoir elka stage 3 shocks will fit as well.as for power,it rips the trails i ride faster than my sxs due to it's size.i can really get it going.and i loooove the front trunk.no grandpa boxes will go on this machine.

Added a tray to the front and box to the back. Went with the BRP products. Not cheap, but seem like decent quality. Both fasten with LinQ.

At my age, I get tired of stooping over or laying down to work on the machine, so I made a "poor man's" atv lift from cinder blocks and planks. Brings most things up to eye level and leaves plenty of room for under-belly work.

Great ideal, I took it just a bit further. Mine is built out of 2x6 and each stand has a 4x4 beam. Also it can be taking apart when not needed. It is 27 inches tall and makes working on my ATVs a lot easier not getting any younger.

Ok, Dood, that is awesome! If you're willling I'd appreciate a bit more detail on design. Are those basically collaspible sawhorses with 2X12 planks between?
