I was at the Can Am/PoPo Dealer in Sunny South Fort Worth, TX and the President of Can Am(So they said) had just left their store this week (They own a couple of storesand carry a very large inventory) for what that is worth.

He said the SXS will be in Show Rooms for 2010. He would not go into details on who it competes with no matter how hard they tried to find out, they said. So, we can hold our breath and think 12 more months.

In the meantime, I am going to go get me an 09 Ranger. If they finally come out with one, I definitely do not want the first year model.

That said, I was really concerned about the Visco compared to the AWD from Popo. After some seat time on a 800 Max at the deer lease for a couple of days I really like the Visco too. Yeah the delay kind of bites but putting the power to the wheel with the best traction helped me through some really deep and steep creeks.

Personally I which Can-Am would drop that whole SxS deal. I believe that ship has saled. In our area, there are not many SxS sold anyways, beside Ranchers and construction work. Our trails are such that in places it's hard to get a reg quad through, let along a SxS.

My local Can-Am/Yamaha Dealer told me today that this past year he only sold 60 grizzlies and 92 rhino's. Not sure that ship is ready for dry dock yet.

Yeah maybe there still is a market for them?? It's just everyone and there dog sells SxS now a days and that's another reason I thought they could focus there efforts else were. I have always thought BRP "Follows No One"
Was talking to my dealer the other day (they sell a couple hundred quads/year, they own 4 dealerships in Manitoba) and he felt to same way as me. His comment was "We had 2 up machine, no need for a SxS" JMO

I disagree with the dired up market statement completly. If their is a market for these 7-11k quads and every company has 2-3 in its lineup, there will always be a market for the SXS. As long as they keep making them bigger and badder, People will always trade up and people who wanted one but could not afford it will always buy up the used ones.

I could see less ATV sells in the future if every company has a SXS. JMO Though.

I agree with that. For everytwenty guys whoguys who can not afford the very best/brand new/top of the line toy every year, there is one guy who can. Used atv's are still big business, and alot of them are in really good shape because the poor guy never got time to ride it.

I like the idea of a Can-Am Side X, but who can say where the economy will be in a year whenit comes out.

My dealer was at a BRPseminar in the US a few weeks ago. He told me that he has seen drawings of it. He claims it looks a bit like a hummer and that they allready have a contract with the US army for them.

Don't quote me on this one.

I'd like to see one myself, Here where i live, sxs are becoming more and more popular, especially among those that take the family out and may cannot afford 3-4 atv's. ( or they don't have the room for more than one atv/utv.

And now in Tennessee, they have passed a law stating that sxs are allowed to ride on public roads as long as they have turn signals, Windshields, and seatbelts. That would be nice to ride to work on a sxs every once in a while. ( heck if atvs were allowed, I'd ride least once a week, with road tires). MY suv compared to it gets worse mileage than my can-am.

Would prefer the sxs to be no bigger than 50" wide( as more and more trails are having that rule). Right now the only sxs on the market that fits the 50" rule is the Polaris RZR.

I wouldn't by the first year model either though. Wait a few years tilll they get all the bugs worked out of it.

I seem to remember a certain guy on highlifter mentioning that it has 1000 CC's. Can't quite remember his name though. Maybe you know him? :tg:

I believe Northern Bomb might have a little inside info. I would keep my tongue in chech too NB. Large Corporations do not take too kindly to somebody leaking the details until the get to roll it out in a spectactular way. And as long as they have been working on it, they may just have you shot. Or at a minimum, sue your pants off.

Until the SxS and some other units show up, I see no reason to spend my time here. For what I doo, I haven't really viewed any important or life altering info here LOL. For most every question I have been asked, I have an answer without being on here 24 4 7 like before. At last, there is nothing has been nothing new here for long time. I have since lost interest posting..... for now. On the 1000cc thing, I have trust in my response on HL that soon again BRP will give rise to me being on here every second of every day LOL.
