To make a long story short, I am planning on buying a winch in the future but do not need one right now and just dont want to spend the cash on it yet. However, I would like some way to recover the quad from the front. So I am toying with the idea of buying a winch mount (like the KFI one) and building a simple recovery point that will bolt in where the winch goes. This would allow me to tug the quad out from the front or the back with another vehicle until I spring for a winch. My concern is that the winch plate may not be strong enough for the shock loading from a kinetic recovery pull. Anyone have an opinion as to whether this would be too much load for a winch mount? Thanks!
