My quad is a 2016 outlander xmr 1000.winch goes out fine but have to press the in button multiple times to get it to winch in hearing a clicking sound when it doesn't go in.cleaned the connections at the winch solenoid and at the winch and still not working properly even after installing a new winch today.

Could be a few things. On my '07 bike the switch assembly includes a short wire and connector that meets behind the plastic dash housing. Mine failed because one of the three wires had broken after many years of jiggling around and flexing. The entire assembly was available via the BRP parts fiche.
Could be moisture/junk inside the switch too.
Or, could be the solenoid itself, internally. Your pic shows a plow. If you do lots of plowing I'd suspect the solenoid is worn out.
If you are handy with a multimeter there are some continuity and voltage tests that might help.
