Propably one of them Gorilla's that have never had any problems- other than the two I snapped driving 2 feet on a paved floor in my shop.

 

You can find days of reading on here about xmr axles. use the search. long and short of it trash the stock axles and get gorilla axles or you will keep on breaking.

 

They are stock gorilla axles!

 

If they are the stock xmr axles, they are not gorrila axles from what I have read.

 

They are gorilla specs. They are 5mm bigger than stock outy!

 

Ya they are bigger than the stock outty axles but they are not gorrila axles.

 

I own an XMR have been through this for to long. If you believe they are gorilla then I have a few bridges to sell you. Or maybe some beach front property 200 mile south of New orleans. Yes the Axle is 5 mil. larger but the CV joints are CR@P the only thing Gorilla on the bike are tires, center caps and stickers.

 

The axle itself may be gorilla spec. But I promise the cv is not.

 

Maybe you could sell some ice cubes to some eskimos while your at it. Heehee

I'll send the cleaning lady right over to take care of that cereal for you. You should be able to get your axle covered under warranty. i belive i have read about a guy getting gorrillas installed and only having to pay the diffrence in price from stock price. PS I drive a outty max

I did a little bit of homework on this topic this past weekend and here are the findings i came up with. Yes the xmr axles are lareger in diameter then a stock outlander, 4.5mm to be exact, measured with a digital caliper. They are not Gorilla like like many have stated, and clarified already. As far as the cv's i beleive they are the same as a regular outlander. I decided to get some pricing on the the axles themselves and here are a couple of numbers. canadian prices list the stock axles @ 509.00 each i beleive, where as the gorillas are 415.00 U.S, so basically if you and your dealer can come to an agreement after they have failed, you should be able to swap your axles to gorilla virtually for nothing.

Why i wonder they just didnt go ahead with gorilla's to begin with being is the pricing is almost identical is beyond me. Personally i havent broke any myself, but have made arrangements with my local dealer that if they do break that they switch them to gorilla .
