Xt shocks suck..better options

Well I've got 140km on my 1k xt and I'm pretty sure I've already blown the front shocks! I've been riding it pretty hard but I dint think I'd blow them that quick. So question is what's an affordable shock that can take some abuse?

I have looked and looked and there is not much that I consider affordable out there for us... The best thing I have found is used stock(nonACS) fox shocks on eBay... and those things are still in the $500-800 range... Then of course you have elkas and you can spend as much as you want on them things..
I had ELKA Stage 1s. Huge difference over stock crap shocks. Just upgraded to Stage 4s! Stage 3s are still on sale. You'll love them: Legacy Steel Series Front & Rear Shocks Kit for Sports-Utility Quads | Elka Suspension
Xtp shocks!
That place is just a few miles from me.

But anyway, I went with a set of Elka stage 4.

agreed. the price of shocks is astronomical and it's unfortunate the stock shocks are so crappy. many of these guys do love the results of the upgrade though

I would hope that they would be with the amount of money they spend on them. That's just to much money for me....

Holly crap I guess there's really not a cheap option lol. It's to bad that a new quad would come with such junk...guess the visa will be getting some exercise.
Have you tried spring spacers to help stiffen them up?
I spent $1,200 on a set of Elka stage 4's and notice absolutely no difference, lol. I'm still tweaking, hopefully I can adjust some kind of difference.
Well I didn't wanna spend a ton of money on new shocks so I bought and installed the Heavy Duty front springs from Can-Am. A lot stiffer and the cost $80/pair.

I'm not gonna say they're as good as new shocks but cheaper solution if you aren't looking to spend a ton of money.
