Has anyone been on this trail recently? Was on Park Falls trails in late July and we were looking for some mud and few locals told is that this trail was bad. By the time we got there we could only go a few miles from tuscobia trail but didn't seem too bad. Plan on making a trip up there in a couple weeks to just ride this trail to see if it gets better towardsClam Lake. Just wondering if anyone else has rode it and opinions?

The DH is one of my favorite trails. I haven't ridden there since May. Some rough and rocky sections. Some holes that will be wet if it has rained recently. Very scenic. The first few miles off the Tuscobia are the most rugged. It gets tamer toward Clam Lake. Plan for a full day if you are going up and back the same day.

That sounds good! Are there any larger mud holes you can play in?

Been a while since we have been there but I remember some good mud holes to play in if there has been some recent rain.

Don't waste your time. I was up there the weekend before labor day.

I went looking for the badest trail around and was told the same thing.

So we rode the RR grade 40 miles instead of doing the spider loops where we were camping to find this BAD trail.

Went all the way up to clam lake. Didn't hit the backside loop but we put on 90 miles before we turned around. Only found two mudholes.

Granted they were DEEEP but the rest of the trail I can see better in MN. It's really all pretty flat and just a bunch of little hard bottomed puddles.

It was a nice trail but nothing I would travel to see again.

The only LARGE mudhole was way too wet to play in. there was about 15' of water and then DEEP swamp up the highlines. just too wet this year and probably not supposed to ride there anyway.

I have heard the spider loops and that southwest a little more have more hills and terrain.

The first hole in this vid was up near clam lake.

Have Fun!

The old dead horse is long gone.... The Wisconsin Forest service has been "fixing" it for the last 3 or 4 years... can almost do the entire thing in a golf cart.

That sucks! Was hoping for a challenge. Is there any other trails in WI like this? I live in central WI. Is there any in the Black River Falls system?

There are some deep water holes that might be full if it rained recently. There isn't a lot of mud unless you go off trail a couple places. The DH is in the Chequamagon-Nicolet National Forest. The "improvements" are courtesy of the US Forest Service.
