Is the suspension the same on the two?? Springs and all?? But the whole suspension is it the same???

Any other things athat are different???

Oh and thanks in advance!!!!

Ya, I thought I read somewhere that the front springs were a little stiffer on the xt. :2cent:

I have heard that there is 3 sets of springs on Outtys, the softest being on the Outty non XT, the next stiffest springs are on the Outty XT and non XT Outty Max, and the stiffest springs are on the Outty Max XT.

Also on the brake lines the XT outlanders have Plastic coated Stainless steel braided lines. I noticed that on mine the other day while cleaning it.

Ok so, you sure Voodoo??
Inquiring minds are curious.. He's got an XT in the shop and is looking to make a *secret* for it and was needin to know about the suspension setup..
Te springs really wouldn't make any difference I dont think, as long as it is setup the same like where they bolt and what not...

on our 06's the xt has 2 springs on each shock and the standard there is 1 single spring on each shock and the single spring is much superior than the soft dual this is on front everything else seems the same though minus bumpers and hand guards and winch

The setup is the same. It's just a different shock/spring combo.

Now don't forget to let us in on the secret. :)

I tried to post some photos of my suspension setup. But looks to me like the same springs in the front, heard the rear springs are more heavy duty since it is a max.

As of anything else, i have heard there is nothing much difference except in bumpers, wheels, tires and the handguards and winch.

Also i am correct when the brakelines are Braided steel lines. Just checked on it.

Since I mostly go slow speed in tough terrain, I have mine on the softest setting.

There's no sag and I actuallythink the suspension works fine.

If I were going faster on trails I would stiffen them up a bit.

Gotta upgrade those shocks, Crutchfieldsare a good choice. :2cent:

Guess I'll save up a little money for the Crutchfields..
Skids are on my list also for sure.....

So, so far I got Crutchfields, skid plate, Winch, Bumpers (ordered aleady) and some fender flares are on m list to get.. WHEW!!!! I don't know what I would spend my money on if it wasnt for these quads!!!

PRP stabilizer is a good mod too :sm:.

Oh yea we can spend some dough on these things, just don't tell the ole ball & chain.

Ed Crutchfield will make you a great deal on a shock / stabilizer combo deal...

Quad is correct...these bikes can sure gobble up the money while your outfitting them...tires, wheels, skids, shocks, lights, pegs, fender extensions, stabilizer, trunks, winch...etc, etc, etc...

I don't use the flares I have, don't get muddy either. Makes your bike too wide to get on some forest trails between the trailhead bollards.

The springs do change depending on models. There are some changes in the rims dependant on what year and what models you are comparing as well.

The general XT itemsan later models 07-09 are:

Wheels

Tires

Hand guards

Bumpers

Winch
