Does the 2018 XMR Still Suffer The Heat Issue

I have read all over the internet about the left side of the XMR getting hot and melting the plastics and/or the seat. I now own a 2018 XMR 1000 and based on what this post turns up I will be ordering the materials to wrap the exhaust and protection for the plastics and air box. This week though I will be adding the RJWC exhaust and having MR RPM do the flash. I feel that these 2 things alone should help right?

Thanks to everyone that chimes in on this subject.

Yep, it’s a well known issue with all of the can am v twins xmr or not. Probably get worse as time goes on considering they have to pass strict emissions.

They really need more fuel through a tuned ecm or ejk

No issues on my 2019. I never notice the side of the bike getting hot. Just wanted to add this if guys were thinking of new vs used. Compared to my buddys 2015 800 XMR that get burning-my-leg hot.
