Im thinking of buying one of these, and have tried searching for info on removing that 78 mph speed limiter that I have read about on these.
Just wondering what there is out there, thats reasonable and works.
Dont neccesarily need to go faster, just nice to know when you buya big machine they dont handcuff the top speed with what a smaller machine could do.
Thanks

How much do they sell for? It's not somthing I really need but for the right price i would buy one. I heard that with air dam clutching and no limiter that the 1000s hit 90 mph.

I think around 250 plus shipping, 300 or so to States. Mine will only do 74 with Kenda HTR and full utility box plus my elevation 4300 feet.

With airdam clutching I hit limiter now.

I did as well but it's more abrupt when you hit it with cv tech.

I know mrrpm said there were no airbox gains, but I need to open my airbox and see now that I have auto tune hooked up. I'll be able to tell if I can hit the speed limiter with more air and fuel. I'm thinking because I'm already short on air it works.

So with auto tune when you do a modification do you even have to hook the lap top up to pcv at all or does in automatically adjust fuel instantly?

I hook it up and make sure it's working, then ride. Sometimes I keep it hooked up so I can see what's going on like A/F. When I get done riding I look at the trims and If they look normal I accept the values.

When I removed the airbox on mine and numbers changed when I auto-tuned with the Tune Monster, telling me there's some gains there.

Get-Torqed has an airbox mod available, I'm not sure exactly how it works, I'll find out when I get it.

I wish you could just set it at 12.8 to 13.5 and it would hold it there at all rpms without having to worry..

It will as long as auto tune is running. Once you map is made you remove it or eventually the sensors may go bad....Any airbox or pipe mods you hook it back up and do a new map.

I know that nobody in this thread wants me to put in my 2 cents... but... here I am..

If you use my dumb-a$$ idea of a good mod - a fan controller then you will keep your stock ecu happier and be able to keep those A/F's in line easier when the autotune is removed...

Control all variables for the stock ECU before you tune the fuel, you won't be sorry....

Again sorry for ruining this "perfectly good thread"

Is there any proven aftermarket product that removes the speed limiter other then the tune monster. I don't have any mods on the bike yet so don't want the tune monster just want the speed limiter gone hit it way to often for my liking

Does it work though I read somewhere else on here that someone tryed it but it didn't work because it was made for the commanders? Different ecu or something? Just don't want to spend money on something that don't work

Do you think they will sell it to you if it doesn't work? Best way to find out is call, I know some guy named Kevin advertised them and had it on his 1000 so I pointed you in the direction is all I can do. As far as I know no one else has tried one out.

With a Tunemonster, a stock bike will go around 96mph, stock clutches.
The Tunemonster also allows total control of fan turn-on & off temp.
No power in the airbox at all, but just a bit maybe in the filter. I removed the filter, & found maybe 1RWHP. Removed the airbox completely, & got nothing.
My cams, when I get them on the market, will add over 20RWHP. Still dynoing different grinds.
