Kind of surprised me a little to be honest. Both machines are completly stock.

05 Brute 750i FI

13 1000 xmr

Now I understand my xmr isnt meant for top speed and his machine is lighter but he actually pulled away from me at 30-50 mph.

Does this sound right to everyone? I'm at 50miles and 11 or so hours if it matters.

Just curious as I'm still so so happy with my machine....just bragging rights :)

Doesn't sound right at all to me. I have seen an xmr 1000 race before and they may be heavy but they are still crazy fast!!!

Brute isn't that much lighter but the XMR has those big tires and that causes power loss. The kawi has more power then people want to believe. I would bet with 26's on your XMR there wouldn't be an issue also I believe the XMR's are speed limited more then the Outlanders or Rene's I think 65 is max but not sure

Doesn't sound right to me either. I have raced some 800 Renegades that barely out ran me and that was running with OL2's on my Outty.

You might have the wrong key in and the XMR is limited to 105 km/h also.

if you lost to a brute force something's wrong. period.

Give your ride another 9 hours or so I found mine worked much better right around the twenty hour mark.
Racing also depends on conditions, dirt, mud, pave, his tires, your tires, air pressure, rider weight, you never mentioned much?

I'm hoping this is the case :) The race was from a 25 mph roll so traction wasn't an issue. Stopped at around 55 mph so don't think limiter was playing a factor.

Race was on pavement. I have 30" backs He has 25" stock trail tires. I'm thinking the tire difference would be the biggest factor like said above.

Question, is there a break in chip? I hear that they do this on snowmobiles for 50 miles or so.

Does the 10hr reset affect performance? Maybe better after the reset?

Again, I'm happy either way as it's a beast in the mud and trails but just want to know if I can expect more/better future performance out of it.

Was the performance noticable after 20hrs?

Some of you guys kill me. You actually think a heavier machine geared for low end power and 30" backs will beat a Brute with light 25" stock tires on pavement..WOW...

Then I guess i haven't owned 12 bikes in my life with 4 of them being sport quads and currently owning a bad ass ute that would spank my previous quads and most atvs out there

just because you owned them dont mean ****,still doesnt mean u know how to race, alot of the race he is talking about is the jump when they are rolling if he gives that brute the jump,it is hard to catch back up,with 30 inch tires your probably not going to,and if you want to put on some 30 inch tires,i will show u how u will lose

Sorry Jerry with 30's on my bike I would spank your 800's ass like a bad kid in the cookie jar PERIOD!

I'm done arguing with folks on this thread I apologize for the hijacking. Like others have mentioned break your bike in a little more and try again, the brutes are stout my buddy has a 2012 bf750 and my other buddy has a 2011 outty 650 both stock the 650 won a straight 300' drag run 10 outta 10 times. The brute as mentioned earlier is no pussy though. Your rear end is the same as a 650's I believe and your limited to 65mph but you should still win to that point

Big Brute

I ride with a guy who has a Big Brute maybe 2 years old.
I have a 2012 outty 1000 xt
I have never raced him because he does not ride that aggressive (fairly new rider) I can tell you from my observations those Brute Force machines have some low end torque! I think I can take him but I am not saying I am leaving him very far behind. I have stock tires and rims. I would think if he got a real good jump on me it would be tough to catch up. I am a Can Am guy but you need to respect that 750

I have 28's and I spank the Renegade 1000 with 25's by about 6 lengths in the 1/8 mile... Why is that?

Let him put on those 30 inch tires and get out your video camera and prove me wrong,as for hp 82 stock 1000 71 stock 800=11 hp difference,i dont think it would be a spanking if he won at all, would be shocked, as for the 1000 they werent out when i bought 800 or i would have one

You can't really compare the xmr 1000 vs the standard chassis 1000's or even the max.

I drove a new XMR 1000 after I put a pipe on it. trust me. hanging on at 60 mph it's a handfull. no where near my renegade 1000's performance and it felt geared much lower even though the tires are that big.

I'd say stock for stock the brute would give the XMR 1000 a good run. now race a brute against a MAX 1000 and it'll get spanked.

XMR makes the same RWHP as the standard chassis 1000's, it's just more compact power band. They weigh in at 1000 pounds and turning way larger tires, larger chassis, and reduced gearing it all adds up quick to suck that power back down.

62 rwhp running 30's on a heavier machine isn't ever going to be as fast as 62 rwhp running 26's being the same weight machine.

to beat the brute. line it up where it was meant to be raced, infront of a 2 foot deep mud hole. then see who comes out first.
