What would you like to see in 2013?

I would like to see an Outlander X XC 1000!...
I would of bought one but I was forced to buy a Renegade! I'll miss my racks alot but I wasn't doing without the suspension this time.

What do you think they should pull out of the Can-Am basket for next year???
(I hope they're listening!)

But in my soul all I want is provision for a rocket launcher....I just want a rocket launcher!! Is that to much to ask for??! Jeez :th_smiliefrustrated

All colors for ALL line-ups.

Red, black, blue, yellow, silver, etc. for EVERY model equal if standard, XT, XT-P, XMR or Ltd.

Here in germany you only get

red for standard
yellow for XT
silver for XT-P
black for XT-P
blue for Ltd.
black/yellow for XMR
camo not availble

Hey BRP, listen, I don't want this frickin' yellow for a XT. Let me choose the color I want !

I want a Red XT or XT-P model !

14" Wheels!!! Come on already!

What are they waiting for?????? Can-Am is always ahead of the game! why can't they have 14" wheels already?? IMO a 28"+ tire looks funny on a 12" wheel, and I like big tires and the look of 14's! Give me a 14" wheel!! I would keep them if they came with it. Specially a set of 14" bead-locks for my new X XC ! no??? I can't be the only one that wants that..

I say, delete the XMR, No one can understand why they designed it the way they did so get rid of it.

I guess what you are trying to say is that nobody buy it and use it for what it is designed to do?
Most people imho buy it because its the meanest looking atv out there but they use it as a trail atv so I think you are right. A pit racing atv is a way to small market to build an atv for if you ask me. BRP are doomed to get in a lot of trouble with a machine like that so I always wondered how BRP could make something like the XMR in the first place. They must surley have known that people would get in all sort of trouble and doing all sort of crazy stuff with it.

Remove the XMR from the Can-am line up. Most dont understand why BRP built it(the xmr) the way they did, and everyone complains about changing it, so remove it... better

Then that would defeat the whole purpose of the design. It's designed for pit racing.

I would also love to see a 1000cc G2 XXC Max version. That would be the perfect atv for me.

its not just a mud pit machine.. its a mud bike period.. there is nothing wrong about putting 11 wide silverbacks on the rear and 9 wides in the front.. that is good for pit racing too.. half the videos ive seen of pit racing the bikes are always stuck cause they dig to much making ruts causing to get hung up.. 9 skinny's in a mud pit is like a hot knife through butter... 11's on the back would probably quicken the pit time. plus skinnys spin to much cause you cant get traction. 11's would grab more and spin less. just my opinion i guess.. if you go by your logic, than why dont they have them crushed from factory if its only a mud pit bike? its a mud bike period. not just for pits. thats why everyone complains.

and second, screw the air lift. just make it sit a inch and a half higher than as stock and delete the air lift. make it come stock with a 2 inch lift and actually put gorilla axles on it if its a pit bike. gorilla axles are cheaper than oem anyways.. makes no sense why they didnt do that off the start.

just my opinion. not trying to bash you in any way haha. i just like having conversation about opinions. and i respect yours. its just that if it is only designed for mud pit racing, well than they should have done it different. to me, there is a reason why it didnt come with crushlocks, and a standard lift and gorilla axles.. cause its designed for everything. just shines in the mud is all. cheers :)

Thats actually not a bad idea. Yamaha did something somewhat like that this year with their sport quads. They first produced the YFZ 450 in 2004. It was a great ATV in 2004, and had significant upgrades in 2006 (most notably, a larger engine displacement). Then in 2009 Yamaha released the YFZ 450R and YFZ 450X, which were fuel injected, and had major upgrades (an all new chassis). 2009 also saw the last year of production of the regular edition carburated YFZ 450. Well now that the 2012 models are being released, and the economy is in the crapper, Yamaha re-released the YFZ 450, in essentially the same configuration as it was last seen in 2009. But the price is $200 less than it was in 2004, and $700 less than it was in 2009. Its still a great ATV, but it is a much better deal than it ever was before.

Now lets see Can Am, Polaris, Honda, and the rest of the manufacturers drop their prices as well.

------Can-Am 2013------
I say everyone that has posted here should HAND WRITE your ideas and send them directly to BRP. There are some great suggestions here. I am new to Can-Am but have been following them for several years. BRP seems to listen to their customers better than the other manufacturers. Look at the G2 upgrades for 2012 -( better cooling, stronger frame, 1000 engine, etc.) - all are things suggested by you guys years ago, and now they're happening. I've had nothing but Hondas my whole life and their reluctance to listen to their customers has pushed me to Can-Am. ( color "choices"-olive? YUK!, puny tires, no XT type packages, sub-40HP "big bore" that hasn't changed substantially in 9 years.) :th_smiliepullhair:

My suggestions would include:
-Expand G2 platform across all models (will probably happen on 500s & up)
-Handwarmers on EVERY bike standard ( even the cheapest Ski-Doo has these at under $4000. This would be a great selling point just like when RER was added to ALL the sleds.)
-1000cc Outlander Max ( a no-brainer, cant believe how many Maxs' on this site)
-A receiver hitch that doesn't connect to the rear diff ( mounted to frame only and beef it up.)

DITTO! Also,

A smaller machine Like a 500 Rene or Outlander that has POWER STEERING!! My wife needs a 800R Like cancer! Im seriously trying to put her on a bike that she can handle!

Im stuck with a Monster machine w/ PS or a Realistic machine with no PS....ARG!!

How about a Power Steering KIT??? I'd pay for it!

8900 Bucks for a new Rene 500 and another 1200 for PS! I'd do it in a second! Hell the entry PS Rene here is over 13k!

A few ideas I have and problems so far.

1. Fix the water pump seal that needs replaced in 2 months. Those with 1000's check your weep-hole drain its a clear tube for coolant. Underneath the machine on right side of Outlander near floorboard. Almost every 1000 on a different forum has this issue.

2. Hate the seat material its way to soft, during the summer when seat was hot I was bottoming out and forced to add a seat insert.

3. Change the composite racks back to tubular. With the linq system, being forced to buy overpriced accessories is not consumer friendly especially since we already paid 13,000 for the machine. Or cut your linq accessories in 1/2 price wise.

4. Remove the 8000 rpm rev limiter and 76 mph speed limiter. Anyone can by a 9,800 dollar Brute Force many for much less and install a $2,500 840 BBK kit in that walk all over the 1000's and still pay less for the machine.

5. Make the air box easy to mod where we can at least keep up with 840's.

I'm sure I'll have more ideas later on.

I hope it's because they're gonna unveil the G2 frame in the Max in 2013 and have the Outlander X XC available in both Max and regular models. Just hopeful thinking, I dunno is there's a market for an Outty X XC 800/1000 Max. I don't think the Outty X Xc is totally out of the plans yet. BRP is known for not letting all of their tricks out of the bag at once and they have to leave something for 2013! lol.

Would anyone buy a Outty X Xc 800/1000 Max?

For the Renegade
First of all, they DID make some good changes but I still want:
Less weight (wrong direction in 2012)
Stronger frame (improved for 2012, but not there yet)
Just a little bit better shocks (you are getting close with the 2012)
Spin on oil filter
Better air flow in the air box
OMF beadlocks
Let ME clear the "maintenance soon" warning
And most of all, IT IS NOT A 1000, IT IS A 976! SO MAKE IT A 1000cc if that is what you are going to call it!

Commander
More ground clearance
Cable operated throttle body
Throw away the computer and let the driver control the throttle
A sporty version so I can sell my Polaris XP

400/500/650 on the G2 chassis, and IFS straight across the board.

QE Visco Lok on all models, including base.

QE Visco Lok on all models, including base.
QE Visco is on models with DPS only. It's too hard to handle (for most people) in the mud without power-steering.

in regards to xc model i assume can am needs it for its factory teams in the cncc racing series, so maybe a 2012 1/2 or 2013 model 800 and 1000

I would like to see the CVT issues addressed. After market clutching should be a want, not a need. Belt slippage/burning happens to often and the primary clutch gets a groove worn in it.

Ground Clearance also. Have a model which offers competitive ground clearance with other brands. Most bikes easily have 2" over us.
