I think you are right on the money Outlaw. To me an 800 today is redundant given the little difference in $ to a 1K. A 750 for a good price woulds be a smart market move.
Also for 13, given that all of the lines except the XMR will be coming out G2, Can AM will have to do something to keep the 1K as the machine to have and warrant the extra $'s. Yes it has power, but not all of us are speed demons like moi.
Also, I think Can Am should dump Caralile tires. Most switch up when buying, so pick a popular premium tire like Maxxis Big Horn or ITP Terra Cross as a high end general purpose tire. You will still have your big mudders wanting something else, but at least you have a quality tire to trade with and lower your mod cost out the door.
Also, it is my hope that BRP has been monitoring the G2 threads and picking up on some of the most common obervations of the owners (i.e. brake pads, fender caps, the cost of the 10-hr check, etc) and make some modification to the 13 offerings.
Finally, given the clearance of a Can AM, skids should be stock. Get rid of the junk Can Am sells and contract with Ricochet for all XT and Limited Models. We pay big bucks for our Can Am's, because they are the top of the line machine. We all know the mod's almost everyone does almost from day 1, so lets cut to the chase and have'm there at the same price!
