Anyone damage their battery yet? This may have been discussed but I'll tell you a short story. I backed into a log and damaged the battery holder. When I got home I wanted to move the battery and thought I would relocate it in my storage box. After looking however I thought I would try put it in the factory rear storage/tool box. As I soon found out it fits nearly perfect in where the took kit is. I just removed the rubber strap, put the battery into the tool kit hole, switched the cables around a bit drilled a hole to run the cables into the compartment and strapped it down. The battery is now out of sight and best of all out of danger. I appologise if this is old news but I wanted to share this info. If anyone needs more info please let me know.

One thing I noticed is that back box does not stay watertite or clean so a drain hole in the box is recommended if used for a battery in my opinion. as a mater of fact that storage box is pretty useless. anything in there gets muddy and dirty and usually neglected cause you dont think to open it and clean regularly

Put my second battery in there and works like a darn. Just used tie wraps to secure it in place. Just used the holes where the strap came out of and it also a vent. One happy camper:ban:

Looks good. I have my winch contactor in there now. Maybe I will stick the battery in there too. How much room is there between the top of the hold down and the cover?

Yup that setup looks great. I think I just might do it. Only I would not put other electrical stuff in there as the water would not drain as quickly if you areriding in seat deep water where the box wil fill up ONLY MY OPINION ORjust my :2cent: :tg::tg:!!! However if all holes were siliconed up and the drain was checked and pulled frequently it might work well. But dielectic grease seems to work very well for me with all other exposed connections.
