Sadly, only locks and tint is the only real difference 😪
When I was shopping there were plenty of dealers attempting to sell for MSRP, but a little shopping and price matching dealers against one another, I very quickly found pricing lowered a few thousand below MSRP. Dealers in my area had plenty of units in stock (unlike a few years ago) and were willing to get more competitive on pricing. Are most consumers paying msrpFor the Defender Max Limited?
Did you ever end up getting a new Defender? I know I saw you checking out threads on Defenders and asking a lot of questions maybe even found a $3k promo?Thank you
I didn’t. The 4 dealers in Tennessee I dealt with won’t sell below MSRP. I’m not in a rush. I’ll sit tight and see if they offer a substantial rebate or negotiate below MSRP. I want to add some extras on the machine alsoDid you ever end up getting a new Defender? I know I saw you checking out threads on Defenders and asking a lot of questions maybe even found a $3k promo?
I’m suspect this varies regionally, but I can tell you the can-am cash rebate on my 2024 in December was $1,500. Beyond that it was just finding which dealer was willing to negotiate the most on their price.Did you ever end up getting a new Defender? Soldier, thank you for your service. It’s people like you that make our country the best place in the world to live. These prices are what has me concerned. I live on VA disability. I did just put in for my retirement though from the guard, so that will help once that comes in. I should have about a year and a half of back pay coming, so I'm guessing I could drop $20K down in cash. I'm still deciding if I even WANT the limited. I prefer to not even have doors on in the summer. (unless it's raining of course) I'd just as soon put on a roof & windshield, the call it done. Heat for the winter for plowing would be cool, but the only real reason I'm thinking of the Limited... is so the wife will be happy in the AC.
Hell, I'm a crippled old soldier with a service dog who is always with me anyhow... so maybe we should just go riding without her... lol. My previous dog (RIP Brandy) was even called "the other women" by the wife...
My used quad bike I have now was 3 grand, and here I am looking to get into a SxS at 10 times the price. BTW, the unit I'll be getting... the Defender HD10 6x6. Just not sure if the base model or splurge for the Limited yet. I do know that a '24 base model could be had for a good deal if I were to walk in with the cash in hand... but most places only have a Limited in stock.
I think most people will agree that the price on these machines are too high. It also comes with a one year warranty. Just one year. I guess people are willing to pay then why would they lower the msrp. Thank you for your service sirThese prices are what has me concerned. I live on VA disability. I’m assuming I’ll have to wait till the end of the year to find a ‘25 machine for less than MSRPI’m suspect this varies regionally, but I can tell you the can-am cash rebate on my 2024 in December was $1,500. There were no rebates on 2025 models and naturally dealers in my area were not motivated to discount 2025s
Guys this is a topic that has been deliberated for generations. Quads used to be sold for a couple thousand at best, now they are 7, 8, 9, 10k plus.I think most people will agree that the price on these machines are too high. I don't know for sure as I'm still deciding... Probably still have about another month before my retirement comes in (guy says it takes about 90 days) but for those of you with the Limited... was it really worth the extra 10K for the AC and heat, or was that what you were looking for anyway?Soldier, thank you for your service. It’s people like you that make our country the best place in the world to live.
Was there a question you had ?
If you really don’t need the A/C, check out the XT Cab model. You’ll have heat and depending on add ons, will be much cheaper than the Limited.I don't know for sure as I'm still deciding... Being older now I DO like being comfy, but after 28 years riding in Army trucks, I can handle a basic vehicle just fine too. I mostly just want the capability of the vehicle itself.
Space, only you can decide if the full cab and HVAC is necessary / “worth it” for your situation.I don't know for sure as I'm still deciding... Worth every penny, I plowed 8" of snow this morning @6degF with a sweatshirt on.I don't know for sure as I'm still deciding... They unfortunately dont have the xt cab model in the 6x6. Its all or nothing. If you really don’t need the A/C, check out the XT Cab model. You’ll have heat and depending on add ons, will be much cheaper than the Limited.
Not sure of your location. I live in northern Arizona at 7000 feet. Heater is a must, A/C would be nice for a month or two in the summer but really not needed.
Good luck in your search!
Ooops! Didn’t catch that. My bad. They unfortunately dont have the xt cab model in the 6x6. Its all or nothing.
I'm in NW Indiana. Very cold in winter, pretty hot in summer. I normally don't go trail riding in winter, just plowing, so I can dress up for it. If you're not going 30 mph in the wind, it ain't too bad. (However if I had a heated cab, that may change) The AC would be nice for the wife, and at times it can be 90+ out in the summer... and raining. Other than that, I normally like the ability to hop in & out easily. I even drive my truck with windows down whenever possible, and I ride a Heritage Softail. If you really don’t need the A/C, check out the XT Cab model.
